I have been trying to remove most of these from my writing over the past four months about the time that I have been writing my first novel. I recommend a tool that I had suggested to me by multiple experienced authors, Grammarly. This tool has done wonders at poking me whenever I use one of the above words or use poor punctuation. It doesn’t solve poor writing, but it does act as a reminder whenever I fall back into bad habits.
