Interestingly I gave up on PayPal back when they changed their terms of service in 2004 saying that they could sell customer information now. If I were going to work with someone that could do that I might as well get the protections that are afforded by a classic bank and card system.
I honestly don’t understand why anyone uses PayPal anymore, they are just a less regulated less safe version of a bank. Go read, really read their terms of service some time, unless they have become more flexible with time they are basically — we can do everything with your data and your money, you get nothing except the ability to move money around.
I could be wrong, I’ll admit I haven’t looked at them at all for 14 years but I cannot imagine they have gotten any better in that time as all of the other big players in the online world have gotten worse. Why would they buck the trend?
